Greystone Program Highlights
Greystone Program offers highly structured group therapies, designed to increase a client's ability to identify problems and develop social and daily life skills. Among the psychoeducational groups are stress and symptom management which emphasize how to access and use support resources and utilize coping strategies.
Each Greystone resident has a developmentally appropriate daily responsibility as a member of the cooking, housekeeping, menu planning/grocery or other team.
Residents participate in at least 15 minutes of exercise daily, but have the option of creating an individualized Physical Fitness Program. Residents are assisted in planning their own free time as well as group and individual activities to promote the pursuit of their interests, hobbies and pastimes. Weekly group excursions include: Movies, the Library, Book and Music Stores.
In some circumstances, a person may need to stay with Greystone Program throughout his or her lifetime. Others are able to step down to a more independent setting. The period following discharge from treatment is a period of high risk for a client. Therefore, extensive after-care planning is completed, including a wide range of referral options to transitional and self-help recovery support networks.
